PTFE Coatings
PTFE 200X
PTFE with MoS₂ for contacting metal surfaces.
Selection guidance
Is PTFE 200X right for your part?
Mating, sliding, and threaded metal surfaces where wear and galling are concerns.
Heat-cured PTFE fluorocarbon-resin bonded solid film lubricant coating with molybdenum disulfide.
How it differs
200X adds molybdenum disulfide to the PTFE system. Compare it with 100X when protection at metal-to-metal interfaces is the priority.

Protection at the pivot
A familiar hinge makes the job clear: metal surfaces move against one another under load. PTFE 200X combines PTFE with molybdenum disulfide to help resist wear, galling, and seizure.

More about the formulation & uses
Slickote PTFE 200X pairs the PTFE fluorocarbon-resin film of the 100 series with molybdenum disulfide. The MoS₂ addition brings added protection against wear, corrosion, galling, and seizure of mating metal surfaces — while keeping the dry lubricity and decorative finish of the base system.
Like PTFE 100X, it is applied over sealed or unsealed anodized aluminum per MIL-A-63576 Ty3, delivering 1000 hours of salt spray and impact resistance. In low gloss black it serves guns, rifles, and armaments for OEM firearms manufacturers, and over an anodize finish it is an alternative to e-coating under GMW 14671 Ty F.
Typical uses
- Mating metal surfaces at risk of galling and seizure
- Guns, rifles, and armaments — low gloss black for OEM firearms manufacturers
- Automotive components specified to GMW 14671 Ty F over anodize
- Anodized aluminum castings requiring a decorative dry-lubricating finish
MoS₂-reinforced protection. Molybdenum disulfide adds protection that reduces wear and corrosion and helps resist galling and seizure of metals.
Qualified corrosion protection. 1000 hours salt spray and impact resistance applied over sealed or unsealed anodized aluminum per MIL-A-63576 Ty3.
Dry lubrication. A dry lubricating surface with a low coefficient of friction on metal parts.
Decorative anodized finish. Provides the decorative finish of black-anodized aluminum on castings.
E-coat alternative. An alternative to e-coating for automotive specification GMW 14671 Ty F over an anodize finish.
